Wilson Family Chiropractic Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your Millville chiropractor understands your spine! Wilson Family Chiropractic understands anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor learned much about anatomy of the spine and applies that knowledge daily. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is always at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient comes into the practice! It’s so exciting! (Are you not you delighted someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

Going through school, we were all guilty of learning only to pass a test. When in professional school, such learning is more vital than ever since it will influence everyday work. (How much do you remember from your high school or college days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists discovered that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy instruction during chiropractic education was beneficial for clinical practice, permitting better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical material to support a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners rated their knowledge of anatomy and demonstrated it in a test showing their knowledge. This was compared to the same in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they kept their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – contradicting the hypothesis that chiropractic practitioners may not keep it after school. Knowledge of anatomy is utilized every day in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your Millville chiropractor does! Just ask to find out more.

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Applying spinal manipulation daily utilizes knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most common reasons people said they sought chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The most common treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions receive plenty of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But fortunate side effects of chiropractic care materialize in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers described the immediate effects of manual therapy to the upper thoracic spine on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers stated that musculoskeletal pain increased the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come feel these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on spinal anatomy knowledge.
